This is Roger's colleague. He caught a fish just as we were passing by, it was only a small fish and the water is very dirty, so he threw it back in. I'm not sure I understand the point of fishing if you can't eat the fish but he seemed to enjoy it. In their 40 years of lock keeping they have seen four bodies floating in the water. I definitely wouldn't eat those fish either.

ReplyDeleteYes! Four dead bodies and also a dead baby in a plastic bag. Horrible. And the canal is full of big terrapins that eat the little ducklings - it gets nasty under the surface!
