This is Roger. He works as one of the lock keepers on the Canal near my house. He told us that he used to be in the band "The Small Faces", I'm not sure I believe him but he sounded very convincing. When he is not a rock star he works as a lock keeper, he says they earn £1000 a week and all they do is sit around, fish, watch TV, repair bikes they fish out of the canal and chat to people like me who come by. Once in a while they sail up the canal to repair a broken lock. It seems like the perfect job for a retired rock star.
I like getting to know people.
